OPCA 2019 will take place on April 26th-27th at Wolfson College, Oxford. It will be the eighth annual OPCA. A call for papers will be published on this website, on OPCA’s facebook page, on our twitter, and via the Agade mailing list in late January.
OPCA 2019 is generously funded through the Lorne Thyssen Research Fund for Ancient World Topics at Wolfson College, the Wolfson College Academic Committee, and the British Institute for the Study of Iraq (BISI).
Registration for OPCA will be open in late January.
The committee is delighted to announce that Dr. Kristin Kleber (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) will be delivering the conference keynote on the religious politics of the Achaemenid rulers of Mesopotamia.
We will be offering travel and accommodation bursaries on a competitive basis. Bursaries will reimburse candidates up to a certain amount for expenses of travel and accommodation. The selection of candidates will be made by an independent committee comprised of Dr Marie-Christine Ludwig (SOAS), Dr Selena Wisnom (Oxbridge), and Dr Eva Miller (UCL).
